Mrs. Arby Hort
Taken by Death
Mrs. Ruth Adams Hort, wife of Arby Hort, died at her home in Oswego early Thursday morning after a year's illness.
Services were held Saturday at the Meade Memorial Chapel with burial in Riverside Cemetery at Pulaski.
Surviving besides her husband are two daughters, Mrs. Earl Neild and Mrs. Robert Strong of Sault St. Marie, Mich.; a son, Ensign John Hort at Purdue University; a sister, Mrs. Owen [Mildred] McNett of Pulaski; a brother, Elwyn Adams of Ogdensburg; 10 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Mrs. Hort was born in Dalton, Mass., and was the daughter of John and Lucinda Colvin Adams. She was graduated from Pulaski Academy and the Oswego Normal School and taught in Eastwood for three years. During World War II she taught at the Refugee school at Fort Ontario.
She was a member of Christ Church, Montcalm Court, 90, Order of Amaranth, Lake City Chapter 352, O. E. S., Oswego and Rising Sun Rebekah Lodge, Pulaski.

Note: Ruth Grace [aka Grace Ruth] married Arby Hort c1929; her eldest daughter was by her first husband, David Tanner.
