Just a little clarification. The correct spelling is Delamater. It is a French name. They lived among the Dutch here in America. The DeLaMater/LeMaitre family, originally from Richebourg, Artois,France fled to Canterbury, England because of the persecution taking place in their homeland. Then they moved to Holland and eventually came to Long Island in 1652, then later to New Harlam, Manhattan. At this time I do not know who Mary's parents were.
