Hi Carolyn, Thanks so much for responding. Mine is a most mysterious line and all I have come up w/in 13yrs for certain, are my WEELDON ggrands first found in Wilmington, NC. Cannot make any connections altho I suspect that my VA ancestors may have been among some who migrated to NS and CA in 1783 and from there removed to RI where they intermarried w/Indians and whites. Find many familiar surnames in the BOOK OF NEGROES, including WEEDON, the spelling of which is one of 26 that appear to be connected. Find a JAMES WHEADON/WHEATON, African, born PA, who lived in NYS prior to removing to CA; would like to get this info to you-----------do you have Ancestry access? May I send to your private addy? My immediate family is from Westchester Co, NY and the only family lore I know is that WE were FPOC coming from England as indentured servants w/VA kin and Indian ancestry. Have never been able to prove either, nor find anyone of kin. Warm regards, carol. Notify Administrator about this message?
