Let me start by introducing myself.
My name is Linda Klass. I was born in Astoria Queens, NY in May 15th 1958. I was given up for adoption and thats how I got the name I have.
My mother Iva Marie Carr came to the city when she found out she was pregnant to stay with her sister Margaret until I was born then shortly after that returned home. My adopted father gave me my adoption papers and hence began my search.
I met with Iva at a restaurant just outside of Goshin on June 5,1985. She refused at that time to tell me who my father was. A few years later I called her and she told me his name was Olympus "Oly" Haines. She also said that the last time she heard from him he was off the coast of Australia in the Navy and that he would deny being my father. Apparently she never told him that she was pregnant so he never knew that I existed.
I am searching my family geneology and hope you may be able to help me.
My fathers name is Olympus "Oly" Haines. He went to and graduated Warwick Valley HS in 1953. Olys fathers name is Ernest Haines I don't know his mothers name or the names of his grandparents. He had a sister Athena.
My mother is Iva Marie Carr who also graduated from the HS in 1956. Iva's father Raymond Leroy Carr married Josephine (Antonio) carr and had 3 children. Paul R., Carl E., & Iva Marie Carr. Her grandparents names were Leroy and Caroline.
