I am seeking descendants of the JOHN WELCH family which was enumerated in the 1860 US Census for the Third Ward, Syracuse, Onondaga County, New York.
When my great grandfather emigrated to the US in 1861 at age 16, he was accompanied by his 17 year old cousin Ellen Welch. I'm trying to determine if they came to Syracuse because they had either Leahy or Welch relatives there at the time.
