Joseph A. Compeau, 66, of 163 Ballantyne Road, died yesterday in Crouse-Irving Memorial Hospital of an apparent heart attack at the Skyline Golf and Country Club, Cicero.
He was a former employee of the Pastime Athletic Club and retired last year.
Mr. Compeau was a native of Tupper Lake and had resided in the Syracuse area for 50 years.
He was a communicant of St. James Church and was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 191. He also was a member if the Pastime Athletic Club and the G.S.I.O.C.
Mr. Compeau had been a member of several golf and bowling leagues.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Saino Zazzara of Phoenix and Mrs. Judith Soles of Hemet, Calif.; a son, David E. of Longview, Tex.; two sisters, Mrs. Elmer Guild of Holland Patent and Mrs. Florida King of Tupper Lake; eight grandchildren, and a great-grandchild.
Services will be Saturday at 9:45 a.m. at the Keegan-Osbelt-Knight Funeral Home, and at 10:30 a.m. in St. James Church. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery Mausoleum, DeWitt.
Calling hours are 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow.
