The Barrows Family appears to be also known as Barrus, Barross, ad infinitum(see Records of Estelle Fisher of Coldwater, MI as published in "New York Pedigrees" April 1992).
John W. Barrus(Barrows) put an article in the Biographical Review of Leading Citizens of Cayuga County, New York 1894, on Pages 601-602. His father, William K., died when John W. was 12(1842) and he went to live with his uncle, Aaron Fay. John W. lived primarily as a salesman and "commercial traveller". He settled in Port Byron, marrying Sarah Randall, daughter of Harry. They had 3 children: William H., Clara(tons of information here, Clara was a doctor and author) and Addie, who married Dr. J D Johnson. John W. passed on 3 February 1908. Sarah passed 4 days later.
I am currently in the process of trying to figure out how Aaron Fay is related. There may be reason to believe that William K., John W.'s father, is the son of Robert Barrows and Lucinda Calkins, son of Amos Barrows and Mary Bailey.
