Marsha,
I spoke to someone today that also lived at an orphanage in Syracuse probably those same years. I was doing research on his family and he stated that he lived at the "House of Providence" in Syracuse. It was located on Onondaga St. He said that he went back to visit in recent years and it was a daycare. He also said they had old pictures of the orphanage. This man is 58 yrs old and may have been there at the same time. I was going to look for those records, if I come across them, I will let you know.
