David Sutton served at Fort Niagara his wife Mercy and one male child are on the 1800 Northampton Census she must have been living there while he served as a soldier. He was injured lifting heavy timbers and later received a pension because of it. He and Mercy returned to Onondaga Co. where his father and brothers lived. They left NY and were in Indiana by 1818 where he is on a school election poll in 1818 for Jefferson Co. Mercy died in and accident in a mill race that was next to her husbands property. He remarried and moved to Illinois. I didn't know if you are still searching for this information if you are contact me I have more on David and his children and his father Benjamin. Donna Sutten
