Hi! I need a generous person to look up or perhaps someone has information on my G-G-Grandparents who I was told lived in the Syracuse/Solvay area. My Aunt Nellie, now deceased, told me they emigrated by ox cart from Brockville, Canada about the mid 1800's. The name was Lovine and the father was Francis, who took as his second wife a full-blooded Indian woman, tribe unknown. This caused some trouble for them from his Church and neighbors, so they came to the U.S.A. He had a son named Lewis Lovine and his second wife gave birth to a daughter near Lake Champlain. My G-Grandmother, Louisa Anna Lovine, was born in Solvay and Francis worked in the salt mines. I do not know the name of his wife but I was told she may have lived on the Onondaga Reservation for a while after her husband died. Louisa Anna Lovine married Arvis Benjamin Sweet after he came back from the Civil War. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks.
