Correction on Noble King GUNN, Sr.

I am in search of any information pertaining to the GUNN family of Ashtabula County, OH. Previous to being in OH they lived in Sheffield, Berkshire, MA--Canaan, Litchfield, CT--Preble and Marcellus, Onondaga, NY [and, yes, Preble is now in Cortland County, NY].

I am directly related to Noble King GUNN, Sr. who was born in Sheffield, Mass., and fought in the Revolution at Bemis Heights & Monmouth.

He married Lucy GLEASON just west of Canaan, CT (where they most likely lived for a few years after marrying) in NY State. They later moved from CT into NY, their son Westrall Willoughby GUNN being born in Herkimer County, NY.

In June 1820 (living at this time in Preble, NY) Noble and his family moved to Ashtabula County, OH. In September of that same year Noble returned to NY, and resided at Marcellus. By 1821, however, Noble had returned to Ohio. Not sure if he was settling accounts with people in NY or just what.

Noble King GUNN, Sr. died in Lenox, Ashtabula, OH in October of 1830.

I am very interested in understanding all the connections our family has with GUNNs who never came further west--or did so at a later date. My line of the family moved from Ashtabula to Vermontville, Eaton, MI.

Any assistance with the GUNN family of Ashtabula County, OH would be very much appreciated! Thanks!

Best regards,
Matthew Lipsey
(4th great-grandson of Noble King GUNN, Sr.)
