Many thanks for your reply to my Field problem. Actually, I have seen the published Field genealogy with the information you had sent.
The George Field, who I believe was son of Waterman was in RI in the state census of 1865 and by 1870 was in Onondaga Co., NY, with wife Mary and their two younger sons, Mason and Waterman. Cemetery records for Onondaga Co.(USGenWeb site) has a George Field, h/o Mary, died 1871, who is probably the person I'm after. Waterman Sr. died 1864.
I expect the clincher will be in probate material in Onondaga Co., NY, for George and/or Waterman. My best bet at this point is to get to a Family History Center and order some microfilm, as it's not likely that I will get to Onondaga soon.
The line from there goes to George's son Albert Hale Field, who probably never removed to NY.
