My gg grandmother was your gg grandmother's niece. Her name was Mary Lynskey and she married Patrick Ryan. Her sister was Delia Lynskey (Farrell) whose death certificate I have. Her brother was Nicholas Lynskey who settled in Utah (also have his death certificate) and their uncle was Walter Lynskey who settled in Santa Cruz, CA and is mentioned in several history books of the Santa Cruz area. I know we are related and I have read all your postings. The one thing I'm wondering is that you mention your gg grandmother as Catherine Lynskey and all her siblings: Tim, Walter, Mary, Bridget and CElia but there should be a William also. He may have been the youngest sibling as all his children were born in Mayo. Both Nicholas and Delia have listed on their death certificates William Lynskey from Mayo Ireland as their father and Catherine Canney as their mother.

I have a census record from 1850 Ireland with your gg grandmother's and my ggg grandfather's parents. Their names were Patrick Lynskey and Mary (don't know her maiden name). At the time the census was taken, Walter was still lving with his mother and was 15 years old. Patrick, his father had just died that spring of dysentery, which was a very common disease at that time due to it being in the middle of the great famine. They lived in the village of Cloonanoff, Parish Kilmaine, barony Kilcommon, county Mayo. I also have land records showing exactly where they lived. I am going to Ireland in April to visit Kilmaine Parish (the Village of Cloonanoff no longer exists) and see if I can't trace back further.
