The 1840 Federal Census of Manlius Township lists a Fred Shep. The correct spelling is Fred Schoepp. He is my Great-great-grandfather. I am doing research. He settled in Manlius for a short time after immigrating from Alsace Lorraine France in 1838 or 1839. He married Saraphina Lux and he may have married while in Manlius tshp, or may have been married when he arrived there. I want to find a record of their marriage if they were married while in Manlius. The had two children while living there and I want to find a record of their birth and/or baptism. Where would be my best chance of getting this information? To whom should I write?
