Antim Meyeur, died Syracuse 1912-1920??
Posted by: Mac Main (ID *****7915) Date: September 20, 2003 at 22:18:18
  of 1914

I have an obit from a Govereneur NY newspaper, but don't know the year. I'm planning a trip and would like to find the cemetery where he is buried and photograph grave. Believe he may have been divorced as his daughter's 1905 wedding invitation was from his (former? wife) & NOT from Mr. & Mrs. Antim Meyeur. Have photos I believe to be him with young grandchildren born 1906 & 1908 but still unclear as to when he died.

Obit dated Jan 3, year unknown, Gouverneur NY newspaper
Word was received Thursday of the sudden death in Syracuse Tuesday of Antrim Meyeur, a former resident of this village. He was a native of that city, but during early manhood was employed as bookkeeper for several years by the S. B. Van Duzee Furniture Co here and the C. H. Bowne hardware firm. He also was a member of the firm of Murray & Meyeur >>> unreadable >>> in Main street. He erected the house known as the Corbin residence at the corner of Main and Rock Island streets, which is one of the finest in the village.

He was united in marriage to Miss Victoria Fosgate, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Fosgate of this village who survives with a daughter, Mr. Thomas McKee of Chicago. He had been a member of the Gouverneur Lodge, and St. Lawrence Commanders of Canton. He had not been a permanent resident of Gouverneur for the last 25 years. The funeral was held in Sryacuse today under the auspices of the Masonic fraternity of that city.
