WELCH - Syracuse, ONONDAGA CTY, NY 1860-??

Are you a descendant of a Welch family who lived in Syracuse, New York between 1860 - 1890...?

In 1861, ELLEN WELCH, age 17, came to the United States with her 16-year-old cousin Patrick Leahy [my great-grandfather]. Upon their arrival from Ireland in 1861, they went to Syracuse, Onondaga County, New York.

I am trying to locate descendants of Welch families who lived at Syracuse during 1861 - 1890 in the belief that Ellen Welch had relatives there. I am reasonably certain that Patrick Leahy had no direct relatives in the US.

In this search, I am compiling a list of persons named Welch from Syracuse city directories and US census reports found online. It is a work-in-progress and I will share the information with others researching Welch relatives residing at Syracuse in this time period.
