Can anyone tell me the name of a large cemetery - or possibly two separate cemeteries that are adjoining - not too far fm the town library on the way out of town? We managed to get to Camden a few yrs ago. I found 5 stones & 10 people & took pictures of them during our very brief stop. Unfortunately it was sprinkling & soon pouring & we didnot get to explore further - nor did we find anyone out & about that we could ask the name of this cemetery.
The largest of the stones I found is a 4 sided obelisk- over 6 ft tall - with the names of the 4 young men in our family that were killed in the Civil War: George. M. Gaylord; John Ashpole; Levi Starkweather; Wm. Burnham. Someone had recently placed flags for the 4 veterans at the site & it was well tended.
I have been to the Oneida Rootsweb Cemetery listings & have not been able to find these people- or the others I found posted. I know this is a stab in the dark - but I am hoping someone could provide me with the name of the cemetery I visited. Thanks in advance for your help - J
