The John Eddy I was looking for was born about 1770 in New Hampshire and died in 1847 in Oneida County, New York. He had quite a few children (I don't remember a Richard but by the time you are getting out to Wisconsin it could be a grandson or a grand nephew. I will try to check the information I have on descendants) and he definitely had a brother Abiel who had four children, two boys I believe and I don't think either was Richard and there was also another "brother" named Seth who was with them in Floyd. There could have been other brothers as well who stayed in New Hampshire or settled in other parts of New York. This Eddy family was apparently derived from Abiel Eddy and his wife Constance Torrey who started out in Taunton MA and moved to Westmoreland New Hampshire in the 1760's.
