Hi Ralph,
I haven't found a Thomas Jones with my Jones yet. But then I have very little info about the following people. Have you run across either of them?
Hugh R Jones born 1835 or Ellen Jones born 1840
I've found them in the census starting 1870. They lived at 601 Whitesboro. For the next 40 yrs they lived at other addresses on Whitesboro and near vacinity. Both immigrated from Wales (I think at different times.) Ellen in 1840 and Hugh I don't know about. But I have no info about their families yet. Ellen was 10 when she came. And the possibility she and Hugh came together is slim. As far as I know they weren't related.
I'm also looking for other family from this area that moved to CA around the same time as yours but I haven't had any leads on the names. Not Jones though. First names and married names only.
I'm hoping there are other family in the area to shed some light on this. Can you tell me anything else about Thomas Jones and his family?
