Utica...help me find John Kelly my GGGG grandfather

John Kelly was a mason and stonecutter who moved to Utica New York around 1827.

He laid the cornerstone for the Utica Asylum.

He built a fine house in the western part of Utica, New York and lived in Utica till he died around 1856. His wife (whose name I'd love to know but do not at this time) died in 1848 (best guess from daughters obit) and is probably buried near John.

If I find one, I assume I'll find them both.

Perhaps searches of directories of that time period might help me locate the general vicinity of where he might be located.

Can anyone help me find John Kell(e)y?
