Joan,

There is an article in an early June 1923 issue of the Utica Daily Press about the marriage of Katherine Cole & Harry Barnes. I can`t read the exact date of this issue but some of the datelines on the page are for June 4th. The article reads:
" Katherine Cole, Madison, and Harry Barnes, Sidney, were married at the parish house of the Church of the Reconciliation by the Rev. L. C. Nichols, pastor. Parents of the bride were in attendance. Mr. & Mrs. Barnes left on a honeymoon trip to Washington where they will attend the Shriners Convention."

You can find this by going to

Search for "Harry Barnes" +Utica +1923 using the all of the words search option

There is only one Katherine Cole in the town of Madison (Madison Co.) on the 1920 census. She is age 20 & the daughter of George, 60, & Kate, 56, Cole.

The city clerk in Utica would have the marriage license.
