Need help in connecting ancestors to the correct families. I have ancestors who lived in Oneida County roughly from 1800-1830 with surname of Dopkins. Some Census materials notes surname as DOPKINS, DOBKINS, DOPKING. Since only heads of household are named, is there any way of finding out the names of their children? Henry Dopkins lived in Booneville in 1820. I am interested in finding the names of his children and birth dates, as well as the name of his wife. These children would have been born between 1800-1830. His brother, Nathaniel Dopking, also lived in Booneville around that time period. I know that one of his children was born in Booneville: Nathaniel b. 1819. There may be other children before him who were born in Booneville. There is also a Harriet Dopking, b. 16 April 1805 in Oneida County who married an Elijah Houghton. I suspect she is an ancestor, but do not know who her parents were. I don't have much to go on which is why I am asking for help. Any help for births with surname of Dopkins or Dopking would be greatly appreciated. Any one having knowledge of this surname in Oneida County during this time frame is also welcomed. Notify Administrator about this message?
