Some of you might be interested in birth, death and marriage records for Polly Gleason (1793-1873) that were copied more than a hundred years ago and appear in family papers inherited by my wife. I am not aware that this data has ever been published or posted before. If any of you can expand on the antecedents of Polly Gleason and the first Hiram Graham it would be much appreciated. Family tradition has it that Polly Gleason's father owned a farm on which some fighting had taken place during one of the battles at Saratoga, but this is unconfirmed. Solomon Gleason, Polly's apparent father, was living in Oneida County with many members of his family before 1850.

Hiram James Graham with his wife Ellen Dean of Oneida County, New York, a granddaughter of Judge James Dean (1748-1823), also went to Illinois in 1853 and thence to Iowa, the Nebraska and Colorado Territories, and finally to the state of Washington, leaving many descendants whose genealogies have been well-documented though not yet published.
