I think you'll find that his name was Samuel rather than Saul.

Samuel SHAW enum. 1790 in Whitestown, Montgomery Co. NY with household 1-5-4-0-0. (Herkimer was formed from Montgomery in 1791, Oneida from Herkimer in 1798.)

His widow Abigail SHAW enum. 1800 in Whitestown, Oneida Co. NY with household 12300-11001-00. Your Salmon SHAW would be the youngest son, b. shortly before his father's death. Other sons may include Jonathan, Daniel and Samuel Jr.

Abigail SHAW enum. 1810 in Whitestown, Oneida Co. NY with household 00210-00101-00.

Marriage and census records in Oneida and neighboring counties may reveal some of these children. I think some of them may have moved to Russian township in Herkimer Co.
