Starting Sept. 5, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum
message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles
will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will
no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.
I wasn't looking for Payne's, but in "10,000 Vital Records of Central New York 1813-1850" by Fred Q. Bowman (c)1986, page 184, entry #6694 lists "Payne, Abram (Rev.) (a Baptist) of Macedon m 2/3/47 Mary Jane Nichols, dau of Rev. Francis R. of VanBuren, in V.B.; Rev. P.S. Bennett (1-2/10)"
The "1-2/10" means it was printed in "Onondaga Gazette" on February 10, presumably in 1847, since that is when the marriage took place. Unless they married long after your gggrandfather was born, Mary Jane is not likely to be Marvin H. Payne's mother, but she could be a step-mother, or Abram could be related in some other way.
