We may connect. Is your Jacob Forbes the son of Joseph Forbes and Hester Dey?
I am connected through his brother Joseph and many Forbes went to Oneida Co NY, Butler Co OH, Franklin Co IN, La Porte IN and then Iowa.

The Jacob I have was bapt, 23 Jan 1751, RDC in NYC
"BAPTISM: From: ' Records of the Reformed Dutch Church in New Amsterdam and New York Baptisms From 1 January 1731, to 29 December 1800,' Edited by Tobas Alexander Wright. 1902. Collections of the New York Genealogical and Biographical Society, Vol IX. 1940. pg. 164. (From George Cannon) 23 Jan, 1751 (Ouders): Joseph Forbush, Hester Day; (Kinders): JACOB; (Getuvgen): Iede Day , Neeltie Forbush, j.d.

I don't have any other information on Jacob but Hester's father was Jacob.

I am looking for information on Jacob's brother Joseph
who married Leah DeGroot in NYC then they went to Oneida
Co Augusta in Aug 1791 with family of 5 children.
I have heard another brother of Joseph (Abraham) was also an original pioneer. All of Joseph's children went to OH, & IN. Several stayed in LaPorte for awhile but most went on to IA. Children: Abraham, Joseph T, John G, William James and Margaret.

Stories say Joseph and Leah left NY and went to OH and were in 1810 census Washington Co. Does anyone know when & where they died?
