Thank you, Cynthia. I have a photo of the headstone at the cemetery which only gives the year of birth (1862) and the year of death (1905). I can't seem to order a death certificate without the month and day, although I have sent in a form for a search. I'm sure it will take a LONG time. I am now trying to locate an obituatary but historical society files seem to be empty on this ancestor. We are traveling to New York in October and hope to trace something/anything while there.
