I am related to a BILL family originating in NY. They were located in Pike County, IL 1850 through 1870, and then scattered to MN, CO and CA. I do not know for certain what county they were from in NY, but I just found the following records at the Bureau of Land Management - General Land Office Records; a homestead patent issued to Alden Bill 8/15/1889 in Morrison County, MN. another to Arthur Bill heir to James (desceased) in Henderson County, IL, and then Indiana: Aug 1 1839, Sullivan County, Indiana, "Arthur Fields Bill of Oneida Co. NY". My family's Bill given names are Sarah (Greene; mother,b. MA) Arthur, Alden, Juliet, Ann Eliza, and Mahlon all born in NY. Arthur's wife was born in Indiana, and they were probably married around 1843 in Indiana. Please let me know if this helps.

Kent
