Here's what I have on the Loofts/Loffts/Loft. I have seen it spelled several different ways.
Edward Loft b: 1793 in England
wife Ellen b: 1811 in England d: 1886 buried in McConnellsville Cemetery, Vienna (no stone found there for Edward)

Children:
Mary A. m: ? Marshall
Edward Jr. b: 1825 England died 09 Jul 1860 (buried McConnellsville)
William b: 1826 England
John b: 21 Oct 1827 England d: 07 Jan 1861 bur. McConnellsville m: Louisa M. - (two of their children are also buried in McConnellsville Cem.)
Elizabeth b. Oct. 1829 England m: Moses Cook 1848 in Vienna d: 18 Jan 1906 Rome buried Lee Valley Cemetery, Lee, Oneida Co. NY
(Moses & Elizabeth are my husband's gr-gr-grandparents)
Joseph b; 1832 England
Frances b: 1835 Rome, NY
Charles b: 1837 Rome, NY d: 1909 buried McConnellsville
Robert b: 1837 Rome, NY
Martha b: 1843 Rome, NY

Edward died prior to the 1880 census as Ellen is listed as Head of Household, Charles resided with her.

Elizabeth's obit says they came from England when she was 6 mos old, settled in Rome, then 1848 moved to Vienna.

Info on this family has been extremely hard to find. Hope this helps. If more is needed let me know. I would love to get more on this elusive family.
