I have been doing some research on the Aucutt's in this area. I believe the John you refer to on the 1850 census is the son of William & Sarah Winton Aucutt. His children are as follows:

Henry b: 1837 m: Laura Brown d: 24 Sep 1910
Sarah Ann b: 09 Feb 1839 m: Wm. Clemons d: 30 Mar 1916
Aaron b: 1839 (died young I think)
John E. b: 21 Jun 1845 d: 25 Mar 1847
Joseph H. b: 1847 d: 08 May 1865
Grace H. b: 21 Dec 1847 d: 15 Apr 1850
Emma b: 1848
Delos b: 1861
Francis b: 1854
Mother of above children was Hannah Bartlett who died 02 May 1854. I don't know if any of this helps but I will keep you in mind if I come across anything.
