CHENEY/LOFFT 1850 Vienna, Oneida Cty

I am looking for information on two families that lived in Vienna. The first is William Cheney who resided in Vienna from at least 1840 through 1860 before moving to Iowa. On the census he was listed as a blacksmith. His wife was Betsy Eckel born in New York. Their issue were Louisa born New York, (married John Lofft), George, Ephraim, Lorenzo, Emmaline, and William. Also living with this family was the father William Cheney's mother, Barsha. Both William and Barsha were born in Vermont.
It may be that Barsha had William out of wedlock. It is believed that Barsha died while the family still lived in Vienna.
The second family I am interested in is Lofft. Edward Lofft and his family. They appear on the 1850 census for Vienna and his occupation is listed as shoemaker. They came from England with four of their sons, Edward, Joseph, William and John around 1835. They had four more children in New York, Robert, Charles, Francis and I believe Martha. Edward Lofft's wife is listed as Hellen born Ireland. This family has proved illusive. I only know what happened to three of the sons.
John Lofft married Louisa Cheney and they had issue John and Mary, that lived to adulthood. John died about 1862. Louisa then moved with her parents, siblings, and children to Iowa. There she married Robert Lofft, who had just been discharged from the Union Army, on June 21, 1865. They had several more children with only two reaching adulthood, Anna and Martha. Martha was my gr-gr-grandmother.
The other Lofft son that I am aware of is Joseph. He was used as a reference in the pension records of William Lofft (aka Robert. Robert entered into service with the Union army using his brother William's name. He went by the name of William in all matters official, with the exception of his marriage to Louisa.) Joseph settled in Onondago County, New York around the town of Elbridge.
What I am specifically looking for is any information on Barsha, (death certificate), that could shed light on a husband, the town of her birth, and/or her father.
Any vital records on Joseph Lofft and his wife and children. I know that he lived for a time in New London while Robert was in the service.
I am looking for any information on the Lofft family. I know that the 4 oldest boys were boatmen. One family member believes they worked on the Erie Canal, but I cannot verify this information. This family is proving to be most illusive.
Thank you to anyone who can take the time to assist me.
