Is there a Merrick genealogy website or volunteers who do record searches?

I am looking for a Jeanne Dingus, born in New York January, 1923 and who lived for a time in Virginia, with her son, Robert Eugene, in the late 1940s, in Wise County, Virginia.

She returned to New York with Robert. Robert supposedly died sometime afterward.

Jeanne is listed on the SSDI as dying in Nassau county, Merrick, New York in September, 1986.

Other than photos of her and Robert, that is all I knew about her.
