Westbury potato farm information

Through the years I've heard my family has ancestors who ran a potato farm in Westbury around the 1840s. If this were true, the farming family's surname would either be MURPHY or SHEA. I'm at a loss as to how to research this, though. Any ideas would be much appreciated!
