REPOST:
Seek lookups in the 1850 [Phebe], 1860 [Phebe], 1880 [Emma] and 1900 [Emma] censuses for Alfred SEYMOUR COOK and Phebe or 2) wife Emmeretta [Emma, Erma]. [Please see timeline and censuses below.]

Seek Alfred SEYMOUR's first wife's maiden name, Phoebe E. or Phebe E.
b. in 1832 New York; they had a son, Julian D. b. 1854.

Also, can please verify the children of Alfred SEYMOUR or Alfred SEYMOUR COOK possibly: Blanche, Frank, Rita, Harry, Bertha and or Della?

Thanks to Arlene for these censuses lookups.

Alfred Seymour Cook was born 1832 in Oneida Co., NY.  He died April 8, 1889 in Syracuse, Onondaga Co., NY.
Timeline:
======
1850 census:  couldn't locate him
======
1855 NY State Census: Syracuse, Onondaga Co., NY; Ward 5         Cook, Alfred S., age 23, born Oneida Co, carpenter        Cook, Phebe E., age 23, born Onondaga Co.        Cook, Julian D., age 1, born Onondaga Co.
======
1860 census:  couldn't locate him
======
1861-63 (somewhere in that Civil War time frame); enlisted Jan 4, 1862 in U.S. Infantry, Co. B., 2nd Battallion, 12th Regt., served in New York Harbor; discharged Aug, 18, 1862; he gave his name as "Alfred Seymour" (not Alfred Seymour Cook).  Makes me wonder if he used the name "Alfred Seymour" at any other time in his life--maybe that's why I can't find him.
======
1864 - married Emmeretta E. or D. Markham on 8 May 1864 in Yates Center, Orleans Co., New York
======
1865 NY State Census, Ridgeway, Orleans Co., NY        Cook, A.S. age 33, born Oneida Co., NY (No occupation listed)        Cook, Emmerett, age 21, born Erie Co., NY
              Cook, Florence, age 3 mos., daughter (supposedly she died in
1869)
======
1870 census Winnebago Co., IL, Rockford, Ward 2        Cook,
Alfred, , age 36 (born 1834) born NY, patternmaker
       Cook, Amoretta, age 25 (born 1845), born NY
       Cook, Bertha, age 5 (born 1865), born NY--or is this
really Florence?
       Cook, Della, age 3 (born 1867), born IL - I believe this is Blanche D.
       Smith, Mary, age 50 (born 1820), born NY, dressmaker (don't know relationship)
======
1870 - son Harry L., born (August 20, 1870) in Illinois
======
1872-1877 living in Chicago, IL (information from Chicago City Directories).  Alfred's occupation listed as sashmaker, carpenter, foreman, woodwork contractor.
======
1877 - son George Frankland or Franklin born June 29, 1877 in Chicago, IL
======
1878 - supposedly living in Lake Forest, Lake Co., IL; have not found any record of this.
======
1880 - could not locate family
======
1881 - daughter Rita Emmeretta Lillian born 17 January 1881, either in IL or Sandusky, Erie Co., OH (census reports show IL or Ohio for her birth).
======
1882-1885 could not locate family
======
1886-1889 living in Syracuse, Onondaga Co., NY, where Alfred died April 8, 1889.
After 1889 - Emma lived in Syracuse for a while before returning to Chicago, IL.
======
1900 I have not located Emma for census year.
======
1904 Emma married Lyman T. Clark.
======
1913 Lyman T. Clark died in Chicago, IL, so Emmeretta or Emma or Erma was widowed twice.  (Lyman Clark did not own a jewelry store in Blue Island, IL; he was a railroad conductor.)
