SHARP CLAPSADDLE LINK?
Posted by: Rebecca Steagall (ID *****2953) Date: April 18, 2013 at 10:26:05

I have come to a dead end in my search for a Clapsaddle link to my husband's family. I was told there was a Clapsaddle in the ancestry, but have not found anything in my research to support that.
His great-great-grandfather was JACOB SHARP and he married a NANCY, but I am not sure of her maiden name. His date of birth was 1790 in NEW YORK.
Son PETER SHARP was born May 7, 1823 in Porter, Niagara, New York and married Mary Elizabeth Fry who was born in Ontario, Canada. I was told Peter was a carriage maker. They had three children in Canada West and then two more in New York, and finally five more were born in Wisconsin. One of which is my husband's grandfather GEORGE FREDERICK SHARP.
Thanks for any assistance provided.
