Jefferson Bert Hayes (Hays)

This was my great-grandfather (my mother's maternal grandfather). All I know about him is his birth and death information, who he married and who his descendants are.

He was born on Mar 29, 1898, possibly in Warren, Trumbull Co., Ohio. He married Hazel Marie Miner and they had two chidren. Jefferson (known as Bert to the family) passed away in December of 1973 in Warren, Trumbull Co., Ohio and is buried in Niles City Cemetery.

The way my grandmother told it was that he was raised by his mother's sister (I don't have any names). His father left his mother and at the time it wasn't acceptable for a woman to raise a child on her own. Therefore, she let her sister raise him. Jefferson later found out that his father had remarried, moved to New York state and that he had half-brothers and sisters that he never knew about.

I would love to know if there is someone out there that this may sound familiar to. My great-grandfather's ancestry has been a mystery in our family for WAY too long.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
