Greetings, I am trying to gather any information I can on my great grandfather. The info. we have(word of mouth) is that Frank was born Dec. 20 1842,St. Lawrence Co. New York. He was in the 27th NY Volunteers in Elmira 1861. He reenlisted in the 1st NY Vets. Cav. in 1864. It is said he worked on the Erie Canal for a short time before joining up..(where we don't know). He eventually came to Michigan and married Caroline E. Morris and moved to Nankin TWP, Wayne Co. We have no information on his family other than the census indicated that his parents were from France or Canada????
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You Bob Coleman
