I have Thomas Carr in the 1850 census of DeRuyter,Madison, New York listed as
Soloman Stephens age 30
Susan Stephens age 35
Andrew Sornburger age 65
Thomas Carr age 82
Lucinda Carr age 75

I believe that the daughter of Andrew Sornburger, Sarah, married the son of Thomas Carr, William J. I found them in the 1860 census. Thomas and Lucinda had five children:
Patience Deborah Carr b. abt 1812 died in infancy
Deborah Carr b. abt 1814 married to Soloman Maine
James V. Carr b. abt 1816 married to Sarah G. Smith
Jane M. Carr b. abt 1819 married to Amos Brown
William J. Carr b. abt 1821 married to Sarah Sornburger

James Valentine Carr married to Sarah G. Smith had 7 children:
Susannah L Carr b. abt 1839 married Edgar Dean
William A Carr b. abt 1844
Jane M. Carr b. abt 1848
Charles L. Carr b. abt 1850
Soloman(Salvinia)Carr b. abt 1853
James T. Carr b. abt 1858
Thomas J. O. Carr b. abt 1861

I am still seeking information on the parents of Edgar Dean.
