Hi Janice,
I was just doing some research at the FYLER SETTLEMENT CEMETERY on Fyler Road in Kirkville, the TOWN OF SULLIVAN, MADISON COUNTY, NY with regard to the PROSSER FAMILY. There are many PROSSER graves in the little cemetery that surrounds the little old church now known as the FYLER COMMUNITY CHURCH. On my 1875 map of this area, this little church is listed as a METHODIST church. In walking around the cemetery recording the information from the PROSSER graves that we found, my husband and I recalled seeing several WATKINS graves as well.

If you look on MAPQUEST for Chittenango, NY, "zoom" out and then venture east...you will encounter the Town of Canastota and the next town will be Wampsville. Durhamville is located north of those townships across the Madison County line into Oneida County.

If you go a tiny bit north and east of Chittenango along Lakeport Road, you will run into Fyler Road on the west side. FYLER SETTLEMENT doesn't really exist anymore...the only thing left there is the church and some houses.

Have you searched for your family names in the Census on-line for the TOWN OF SULLIVAN, MADISON COUNTY, NEW YORK?

The address for the church is 1227 Fyler Road, Kirkville, NY 13082. Perhaps if you wrote to them, they might have the cemetery records and could do a look-up for you.

Debbie
