Sewell or Suel married to Carpenter?

My grandfather's middle name was Sewell (Fred Sewell Carpenter, may have been Suel). In keeping with the practice of sometimes including the father's mother's maiden name in the son's name, I'm wondering if anyone on the forum has info on a marriage between a Sewell (or Suel) and a Carpenter.

Fred's father was Alfred Madison Carpenter (b. 1830 in Madison Co, NY) but I don't have his parents' names. Alfred shows his mother's birthplace as RI and his father's birthplace as unknown in the 1880 census in KS.

If you recognize any of these names or have marriage info on Carpenter/Sewell, please contact me.
