William Jarvis HOUGH was born at Eaton, Madison Co., NY;
He settled down as a lawyer in Cazenovia; He married
Clarinda Carpenter, daughter of Ezekiel Carpenter, a long term resident of Cazenovia.
Wm J Hough was elected to the NY State assembly in
1835-6;He was elected as a US Congressman in 1845-7;
He removed to Syracuse, NY and continued his law practice.
He died there October 4, 1869 and was buried at Oakwood Cemetery.
