Daniel SHIPPEY, Clockville and Sullivan, NY

I am looking to find some information about Daniel Shippey. He was a veteran of the War of 1812. He lived in Clockville, and then Sullivan where he eventually died. In the 1850 census he is in Sullivan living with another Daniel Shippey (A son?). I am trying to find out if he is the father of my great-great-grandma Esther Shippey Hare. Esther was born in Madison county, NY in 1816. She married Liberty Hare in 1836 in NYS. They are found in Sullivan in the 1840 census. Old bible records state that grandfather Shippey was married to a Miss Wilcox. The bible also states that five sisters and a brother moved to Illinois before Esther and Liberty Hare. They moved there circa 1846. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Jane (Hare) Schumacher.
