Risley/Smith, Brookfield, c. 1800

Several members of the RISLEY family of Hartford, CT settled in Madison County around 1800 or earlier. Among them was Elisha Risley b. 1779, son of Jonathan Risley and Phoebe DAMON. Elisha had a twin brother named Elizur, and the Eleazer Risley b. 1787 mentioned in a recent message here was their younger brother.
I'd like to find out about the ancestry of Elisha's wife, Betsey SMITH. Listings on internet sources say that the Betsey married to Elisha was born 'abt 1783,' but an 1850 census lists Elisha of Brookfield, Madison age 71 as living in a household with Elizabeth age 72, so her birth year may have been abt 1778.
Betsey was born in CT and may have been related to a Joseph Smith married to a Thankful BREWER of CT, whose daughter Thankful b. 1799 was, according to one likely theory, the wife of another of Elisha's brothers, Sylvester Risley. Thankful Brewer was the daughter of Abigail Risley, Elisha's 1st cousin once removed.
