Have you seen the ancestral file on the Latter Day Saint's website? Their URL is:

http://www.familysearch.org./Eng/Search/frameset_search.asp

looks like there is a lot of info on there, that would take you back 16 generations (starting with you) on the Baldwin side.

PS. I was searching under Jared Baldwin, using 5 year range, of 1782, United States, and Ct. Several IGI's came up as well you might want to look at also.
