have been looking foR my ggg grandmother for ten years she married JEREMIAH INGALLS of windsor co. vt. JEREMIAH JR. was the son of JEREMIAH SR. and MARY OSGOOD who originally lived and raised their 11 children in orange co. vt. the11 are smith 1792 joshua 1795   JEREMIAH 1796  mary 1798 moses 1800 elizabeth 1803 john1804 myra 1806 hannah 1811 3 D.Y.
in orange co and windsor cothey attended the first congregational church. they raised their family in orange   co. then moving to windsor co.vt jeremiah was a deacon in the church and a musician and composer of hymns that were published in 1805 and are cataloged at library of congress. JEREMIAH SR.1764-1838
  LANCE and JEREMIAH had a son WILLIAM R (maybe RICHARD) who was born MARCH 27 1827 in windsor co.VT.JEREMIAH had 2 other sons from a previous marriage to SALLY PIERCE of churchill n.y .in 1819 at neubury.orange co.vt. SALLY was born 12-10-1798. SONS were
. GEORGE A. INGALLS april 1-1820
  ZACCHEUS BASS INGALLS feb-16-1822 JEREMIAH left sally before zaccheus was born.ZACCHEUS AND GEORGE were born in EATON,MADISON CO. N.Y, TAKING GEORGE ,WITH HIM (perhaps lance and jeremiah had a romance in new york)(or perhaps sally had the romance)
ABOUT 1831 when WILLIAM R INGALLS was 4 and GEORGE was 11 they moved to ohio where jeremiah was a land clearer for the "the shakers" soon he and family joined the shakes as members. LANCE soon grew dissatisfied and with little william reentered the world
ABOUT this time she becomes lana.,when she marries ALONZO HANCOCK on10-9-1842 cuyahoga co. oh she died in summit co ohio 10-15-1843 supposedly buried in erie there are 2 hancocks listed in that time period richfield tns summit and 1 hancock listed in cuyahoga co. lance/lana died 10-15-1843 in summit co. oh.
  a funny little story about this is about a year ago a lady from "the shaker historical museum wote asking if i had found Lance yet. i had not been in touchwith her for 5 years. and it took me 5 years to track them to the shakers so i have been looking a very long time
i am wondering if lana might be an indian my gr.father and mother had quite dark skin and indian features.
LANCE does not not sound english. her son.in his auto bio called her lance william r.ingalls the son of lance carpenter was born in rochester,windsor co. vermont and from the time he was 4 years old he lived in ohio. he married 1950 1st sylvia rawley in cuyahoga co. ohio and a few years later moved to steuben co. in. where he and sylvia had 2 children charles alfred and susan ingalls. sylvia died 1859. 2nd was lovenia   thompson. they had 6 children. william died in 1901, a successful farmer and citizen in his auto-bio he called his mother lance.

POSTED AT LEAST 100 FOR LANCE ON DIFFERENT MESSAGE BOARDS SPENT WAY TOO MUCH TIME ON THIS
MY DESIRE IS TO KNOW HER FAMILYAND WHERE SHE LIVE.MY QUESS IS N.Y.OH VT
