We are still looking for the parents of Albert Henry Baker. He went by "Henry". He was born Feb. 3, 1830 in Providence, Rhode Island. I have explored many a census...RI, NY, etc, but too many possibilities, but none that really really match. I think I have him in the 1860 census in NY with his wife Lovinai / Louinai (spelling?)and a daughter Ellen and I have him in the 1910 census in the home of his son George in CO. I cannot find the family in any other census! From the information I have gathered, he married Lavina / Lavida / Lavisa Keith, daughter of Mark Keith and Louisa / Lovisa Trumbull (spelling variations of Trumbull, Trumbell, Trumble). Possible children of Henry and Lavida include Nellie, Ellen and Lotta. I'm guessing the Nellie and Lotta might be nicknames. They had a son named George Henry Baker b. Feb 14, 1863 or October 1862 in Nunda, Livingston, New York or PA. George died Oct 1932 in Wray, Yuma, Colorado. I think this may be our Henry: http://dpl20.denver.lib.co.us/dpl/whg/Nebraska/vetdata1.txt Nebraska Civil War Veterans Last_Name, First_Name, Unit, GAR Post (if any) BAKER, ALBERT H., 5TH NY CAV, Post Henry's descendants have Colorado and Nebraska roots and moved between the two states on several occassions. I have this for his passing: Death Notice - Wray Rattler - January 20, 1921 Alfred Henry Baker, father of George H. Baker of Laird, died on Tuesday, January 18, at the home of his son. Mr. Baker was born February 3, 1830. Services were held at the family home on Wednesday. Mr. Baker is survived by two daughters and two sons. He had made his home with his son, George and wife for the past 12 years. For some reason, I could not find Henry in the 1920 census. The obit says he lived with George for 12 years, but he is not in the census with their family as he was in the 1910 census...hospitalized or ? at the time...he would have been about 90 yrs at the time of the census. I've even looked for men aged 89 & 90 in Colordo...at his advanced age, he probably wasn't doing too much traveling! Henry's death certificate did not have his parent's names. Any clues would be very appreciated! Notify Administrator about this message?
