Mrs. Hulda Hess, 76 years old, died at her home 12 Fifteenth street, Friday. Mrs. Hess was born in Germany but had lived in College Point for fifty years. Her husband, who died many years ago, was a marshal in the early village days. She is survived by five sons, Henry, Otto, Frederick, and Edward of College Point, and William of Stoudsburg, PA. The funeral will take place from her late home Monday afternoon. Interment in Flushing Cemetery, Rev. Arthur Halfmann will officiate.

There is also an obit for Mrs. Elsie Hanson in 1925 who died at College Point. She is survived by her husband, Thomas, and her mother, Mrs. Lena Hess of the same address.


HESS-Lena, age sixty three, on Friday, July 29, 1932, beloved mother of Mrs. Hilda Simpson, Mrs. Anna Ames and Mrs. Carrie Schwab, loving sister of John, Peter, and William Mueller and Mrs. Anna Scherer. Funeral from the Quinn Funeral Home Sanford Avenue, Flushing, L.I. Solemn requiem mass at St. Fidelis R. C. Church on Monday, August 1, at 9:30 a.m. Interment Mount St. Mary Cemetery under the direction of Thomas M. Quinn & Sons.

Displaying heroic courage, Mrs. Rosina Mahler, who lives in Seventh avenue, College Point, at the risk of her life yesterday rescued Otto Hess and his son, John, twelve years old, from contact with a live electric light wire, in which they had become entangled.
