1870 census look up please?

I ordered a death certificate for James McKee, died Dec. 6, 1876 at age 47. He was married, but his wife's name was not listed.

He was living on W. 32nd street NYC when he died. He had been in this country (from Ireland) 7 years, and was a jailer. He died at 313 West 42nd Street, and I'm curious as to who lived there or what that building was etc.

If this is my great great grandfather, as I believe him to be, then his wife's name was Jane, and they lived on West 32nd st...but cannot make out the dwelling number...sloppy handwriting.

Also, he was buried at Calvary Cemetery (where most of his offspring were buried, but have not found his grave yet). It does not give a date of burial, but at the top of the death cert. is a number written in by hand, # 278, but that was not the death cert. number. Could that be the burial number? That is the section where it talks about the removal of the body etc. I would like to contact the Catholic Cemetery association and see if they could tell me if he is buried there with his wife.

Perhaps even a city directory look up for 1877 would help? Not sure what to do ... My Jane McKee was married to James McKee for sure. But according to a distant Taggart cousin, my Jane had to have been Mary Jane Shields, but their childrens births/dates listed for a church in Ballindery Ireland are not adding up to the dates etc for the ones I know of for sure. Even the childrens names are not all adding up. I realize that they may have been going by their middle names and had their first names listed instead. Any help I can get will be greatly appreciated and if anyone needs help with something here in S. Illinois, let me know..I can at least point you in the (hopefully) right direction. thanks.
