Advice on Death search

My grandparents lived in Brooklyn and my grandmother, Anna Healy, died about 1915. I sent a request to City of NY Dept of Records and Information Services for a search of Brooklyn records for 1914 -1916 and they found no record. I guess it's possible that she was in a hospital in Manhattan when she died. The search for Brooklyn was about $25 and they only search one borough.

Is there any on-line information available or another way to find this information? Help.

I also sent for my grandfather's death info around 1943 but haven't received the response on him yet.
