I'm trying to find any information on a Tillson Barrows, who was found on the 1820 census. Additional information found tells me he is buried in East Watertown Cemetery.
Died 8-22-1832, age 82yr. I believe he was born in MASS in 1750. Also buried with him in same cemetery is Olive Barrows, 1776-1851(a son?) and his wife Miriam, 1780-1865.
Tillson and Oliver are living next to each other on the 1820 census... I am also thinking there might have been a second son, Tillford Jr., who is listed on an 1809 assement roll for Watertown..
Tillford Barrows donated the property for the Cemetery.
from a published source...it is also learned that in 1800 (agent Stow) sold lands to Heman Pettit, Thomas and John Sawyer, John Bliven, Abram Fisk, Joseph Tuttle, N. Jewett, Joseph Wadley, Jonathan Bentley, Friend Dayton, J. Sikes, S. Norris, Charles Galloway, Jonathan Talcott, Josiah Bentley, John Patrick, David Bent, Luther Deming, Ephraim Edwards, Tilson Barrows...
Joseph Wadley is my ancestor and his grandaughter Sylvia, married a Samuel Barrows. Family settle in Wayne county, NY and listed on 1850 census..I'm trying to figure if there is a connection between Tillson and Samuel. I'm trying to figure who Samuel Barrows (1824-1884) descends from and picking at straws.. Several members of the Wadley family moved to Michigan prior to 1850. I found a Clark Barrows on 1860 MI cenus and was wondering if he also might be a son of Tillson..
Any leads greatly appreciated...
